Idiocracy
[Tammy Bruce] I needed a moment's break from the reality of a world full of angry, stupid people. This movie promised me ninety minutes of a world full of people that were merely stupid, which was a step in the right direction.

[Whiterose.org] A Perfectly Cromulent Blog: A throwaway reference to Spears/Federline in my Idiocracy review apparently prompted a certain someone to lob me this little news item, for which I have sworn upon the altar of Wotan eternal hostility against them:
[Productivityshock.com] Productivity Shock: Last month someone announced that they were giving away free wristbands that said "I buy goods from poorer countries." So I ordered one, then received an email stating that they were "out of stock."
[Ifcblog.ifctv.com] The IFC Blog: This may be a smart business move ” most of my peers are too exhausted to do much beyond popping in a Netflix movie and falling asleep 30 minutes later ” but it leaves filmmakers and audiences with depressingly few options...It's worth noting that the major studios no longer bother with straight-up dramas and awards bait, leaving such films to boutique wings that know how to turn a movie out cheaply. Even then, profits are rare.
[Kbweb.blogspot.com] herbie the love blog: Sure, it's funny, but Mike Judge's Swiftian vision of a society in ruins is utterly committed to its satirical vision. It pulls no punches in depicting what is ultimately an incredibly bleak, nigh-apocalyptic future world.
